New Kitchen Units

When Winchester Churches Nightshelter realised its existing kitchen units were no longer up to the job, the task began of finding replacements that would brighten up the workspace and stand up to frequent use in such a busy environment yet be affordable too for a charity based right in the heart of Winchester.

The answer came in the form of units for the kitchen, breakfast and laundry rooms by The Myers Touch, Kitchen and Interior Design company based in Kings Worthy coupled with a worktop donated by The Myers Touch customers: Mr and Mrs Rutter of Romsey.

“At the night shelter we provide a number of services such as computer training, counselling and housing advice but meals feature top of the priority list for our residents who receive dinner and breakfast as well as a safe place to sleep for the night,” says Michele Price, Manager at Winchester Churches Nightshelter. “These new units provide much needed storage space in working areas that get a lot of use. Not only are the units very sturdy but also enhance the environment – the place has been really cheered up! We are so appreciative of this local support for the work we are doing here in Winchester.”

Keith Myers of The Myers Touch adds: “Working together in the community brings great results and in this case, along with one of our customers, we were able to put together a solution to meet the needs of the Nightshelter and add to the valuable work they do in reaching out to those who are without a home of their own.”
