Brief
The clients came to us looking to alter the layout of their family home to suit the needs of their growing family. Originally, they had separate livings spaces that was not functional for their daily lives. The kitchen space felt very dark, even though it was open to their recent extension which had a lot of glass. They wanted a ‘Wow’ kitchen with a living space that the family would spend most of their time in with a hint of ‘Bling’ in places!
Challenge
A large island was a must to sit within this very long linear space with a mirrored build down to reiterate the length of the new room. An extendable dining table was also a must to seat family and guests for those special social occasions.
The kitchen space was extended into the existing playroom and a separate Laundrette area behind fireproof pocket doors houses the new Utility area and downstairs toilet
Outcome
The initial layout of the downstairs was problematic for this family of 5 and the change to the architectural layout allows flow into the living space of their existing extension.
We have created a large dazzling kitchen/dining/living space that this young family can enjoy together. They are looking forward to reap in the benefits of this new space for many years to come.
