This lovely couple were renovating their penthouse home in Southampton and came searching for a stylish contemporary kitchen to complement their refurbishment.
The existing kitchen had been set into a corner using a conventional U shape layout which resulted in them getting in each others way, so a real need was to create space for ease of use so that the kitchen becomes as practical as it is stylish.
In order to create maximum work space with sufficient housing for the many appliances we suggested a bank of tall housing in subtle sterling grey in which to position the ovens and refrigeration whilst using a central island in striking graphite grey to create a focal point, make best use of the view from the rooftop and provide the practical kitchen work space. Underneath the breakfast bar and around the plinth LED lights provide the perfect ambience for evening relaxation.
The owners are now able to work in harmony around the kitchen Island. They can prepare the evening dinner in a far more socially interactive manner whilst catching up on the day.
They now consider the kitchen as another piece of art and often just sit and admire the kitchen of an evening with the atmospheric lighting on the Island matching the mood lighting in their living area and on the terrace.
