Last week, we hosted our latest Dining Club, celebrating the Glorious 12th. Traditionally, this is the twelfth day of August and the start of shooting for red grouse.
With that in mind, our menu with specialist Hampshire caterers McCrimmon & Reid could focus on little else but this game bird. Here is what was served:

Canapés: Grouse tartare with toasted rye and mustard/ Stilton and sage tartlet / Broughton Buffalo burger served in charcoal brioche buns-
Cured venison carpaccio with smoked celeriac and spiced plum

Roast Ballantine of grouse with home-made grouse faggots, Hispi cabbage and almond potatoes and cherry juice

A Review of our Glorious 12th Dining Club
Amongst our attendees were Peveral and Minna, they sent us a beautiful letter documenting their thoughts on the evening at our award-winning Winchester showroom. It read:

What a lovely surprise and such fun to join you and sample your dining club. Thank you it was pure delight.
You are probably and quite rightly very proud of the special setting you have created add to that the stunning meal and much interesting conversation – it was a lovely evening.
As a child we ‘holidayed’ at my grandparents home in Shetland Scotland and I have been there every year since to fish – as such a Grouse/Venison theme was right up my street and your Michelin experts did it royally.
