Project - State of the art living

31 May 2017

Utterly stylish from top to bottom and fulfilling the brief in full, this kitchen captures the lifestyle of a dynamic and fun-loving family who understand the pleasurable things in life.

A huge island straddles the length of the room bringing presence and a call for attention and is softened by the gentle curves of the bespoke crafted dining area. Wistful hues of beige and blue hint at the pebbles and waters of the Hamble River estuary just a stone throw away.

This kitchen may not have happened though if we hadn’t challenged the designs first presented by the client. We made significant changes to the kitchen and internal building architecture resulting in a more impressive kitchen which also controls the space by directing people entering the house from the much-used back door. It positions the user conveniently into the kitchen environment via the seating area and out of the way of the cook. The integration of the hidden pantry area was an absolute coup. Loved by the client for its versatility of usage and serving as important storage for consumables that can be kept safe from the dog, this walk-in area becomes entirely hidden when the doors are closed, leaving clean-lines and a clutter-free environment. Shelf lights illuminate in full as you walk through into the larder which brings this compact space to life and is a particular delight to the client.

The space; the view; the impact; the practicality; all fuse together in this one impressive room creating the central hub of this stunning family home.
